Logistics

Location

Charlottesville, Virginia is fairly accessible to much of the East Coast.  There is a local airport which has daily flights to Atlanta, Charlotte, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington, D.C., among others.  It is located at the junction of east-west Interstate 64 and U.S. Route 29, approximately 120 miles south of Washington, D.C.  Additionally, an Amtrak station is located less than a mile from Central Grounds.

Parking

For those who require parking, the Central Grounds Garage under the U.Va. bookstore is the closest garage to the Harrison-Small Special Collections Library. It is located at #9 on the Central Grounds Map.

Lodging

A block of conference-rate rooms have been opened at the Red Roof Inn on 1309 West Main Street. The Red Roof Inn is located on the Corner, the area of shops and restaurants across from Central Grounds. It is less than a ten minute walk from the hotel to the Special Collections Library. Please refer to the participant email for registration instructions.

Lunch

The Scholars’ Lab is generously providing lunch for THATCamp CAA-NA. The lunch will consist of sandwiches, chips, salads, and drinks. We’ll hold Dork Shorts during lunch.
